The HR Officer will be responsible for executing day-to-day human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, payroll coordination, and compliance with labor laws and hotel policies. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to foster a positive work culture aligned with Kigali Delight Hotel’s values.
· Support the recruitment process: prepare job postings, screen candidates, schedule interviews, and participate in selection.
· Conduct reference checks and prepare employment contracts in line with hotel policy and Rwandan labor regulations.
· Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs for new hires to ensure seamless integration into the hotel team.
· Act as a first point of contact for employee queries and grievances, ensuring fair and timely resolution.
· Support initiatives to promote employee engagement, motivation, and teamwork.
· Monitor attendance, leave, and disciplinary records while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
· Facilitate welfare and recognition programs to enhance staff morale and retention.
· Support managers in setting performance goals and conducting periodic performance reviews.
· Maintain up-to-date performance appraisal documentation and follow up on action plans for staff development.
· Provide guidance on performance improvement processes and disciplinary actions.
· Identify training needs in collaboration with department heads and prepare annual training plans.
· Coordinate internal and external training programs to enhance staff skills and service quality.
· Keep training records and evaluate training effectiveness.
· Maintain accurate employee records both in physical and digital formats.
· Prepare monthly HR reports, including headcount, turnover, and attendance summaries.
· Support payroll processing by providing accurate attendance and leave data.
· Ensure compliance with Rwandan labor laws, hotel policies, and occupational health and safety standards.
· Participate in developing and updating HR policies and procedures.
· Assist in HR audits, staff surveys, and other HR-related projects to improve efficiency and engagement.
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
· 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in the hospitality industry or service sector.
· Solid understanding of Rwandan labor laws and HR best practices.
· Proficient in MS Office and HR information systems (HRIS).
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
· High degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
· Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and support diverse teams.
· Strong people management and problem-solving skills.
