Job Title: PPC Manager / Country PPC Head
Location: Plant Kenya / Uganda / Rwanda / Nigeria

Function: Country-level Production Planning & Control


1. Position Overview

The Country PPC Head is responsible for end-to-end Production Planning & Control at the respective country assembly plant. The role ensures accurate demand planning, MRP execution, production scheduling, and inventory control. This position directly supports the Global Head – PPC by ensuring disciplined execution of PPC processes, accurate ERP transactions, and timely reporting from the country plant.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Country-Level PPC Leadership

  • Lead PPC operations for the country plant in alignment with the Global Head – PPC.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly production plans based on sales demand, inventory, and plant capacity.
  • Maintain planning discipline and ensure adherence to standardized global PPC processes.

B. Demand Planning & MRP Execution

  • Collect and validate sales forecasts and translate them into material and production requirements.
  • Execute MRP runs at the country level and ensure:
    • MRP generates planned orders for all demand
    • Planned orders are reviewed, corrected, and converted to production orders or purchase requisitions.
  • Resolve MRP exceptions and ensure timely availability of materials.

C. Production Order Management

  • Ensure:
    • Production orders are created and released successfully
    • Work orders are prioritized based on capacity, material availability, and delivery commitments.
  • Track day-to-day order progress and communicate risks to the Global Head – PPC.

D. Material Management & Inventory Control

  • Ensure timely:
    • Component Goods Issue (GI) posting to inventory/GL
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent stock-out and overstock situations.
  • Coordinate with stores for accurate material issuance, kitting, and staging.
  • Support physical inventory audits and cycle counting.

E. Production Execution & Confirmation

  • Ensure accurate ERP posting for:
    • Production confirmation capturing completion
    • Finished Goods (FG) receipt updating inventory
  • Validate WIP accuracy, consumption posting, and batch traceability.
  • Ensure all production transactions are closed daily.

F. Order Settlement & Cost Tracking

  • Ensure:
    • Production order settlement posts to GL within the required cycle.
  • Coordinate with Finance on production variances, consumption accuracy, and cost analysis.
  • Highlight any abnormalities or deviations to the Global PPC Head.

G. Master Data Management

  • Maintain accuracy of plant-level master data:
    • Work canters
    • Routings
    • BOMs, cycle times, and capacities
  • Provide feedback to the global PPC master data team for improvements or corrections.

H. Coordination & Communication

  • Work closely with the Global PPC Head for approvals, escalations, and planning changes.
  • Coordinate with local Production, Warehouse, Quality, and Procurement teams.
  • Attend global PPC review meetings and present country-level performance.

3. Systems, Reporting & Documentation

  • Manage day-to-day PPC activities in ERP (SAP/Odoo/Oracle/MS Dynamics or similar).
  • Maintain:
    • Daily production vs. plan dashboard
    • Material shortage reports
    • Inventory health reports
    • Weekly MRP status and exception reports
  • Ensure complete documentation & traceability of all transactions.

4. People Management

  • Lead and guide the country PPC team (planners, analysts, coordinators).
  • Train team on MRP processes, ERP usage, and planning accuracy.
  • Implement process standardization defined by the Global Head – PPC.

5. Required Skills & Competencies

  • 10+ years of experience in PPC/Production Planning in automotive/engineering/EV.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP, BOM, routing, scheduling, inventory control.
  • Hands-on ERP experience is mandatory.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Analytical mindset with strong Excel/Planning tool capability.
  • Ability to drive discipline and process adherence on the shop floor.

6. Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering.
  • MBA in Operations/Supply Chain (preferred).
